Livia Mazzanti was born in Rome, where she studied piano (obtaining a diploma in 1980), organ and composition for organ with highest honours (1985). She moved to Paris where in 1988 she won a French Government Grant. Her career as an organist began at the Basilica Ss Cosma and Damiano, and then at the Church of S. Maria Maddalena in Rome.

For this recording Giulio Cesare Ricci used tube microphones, the Neumann U47 and M49 and the NAGRA recorder. The analog master was transferred from NAGRA 4s directly to DSD. An album not to be missed!
