The tenth album from the Scots of Texas, Hi marks a return to tradition. The record′s thirteen tracks revisit all the influences on which Sharleen Spiteri′s iconic band built its success : from 60s soul, like the opener Mr Haze, or the touching Heaven Knows; to the country-inflected rock of Moonstar, by way of 80s pop pieces like Look What You′ve Done which is briefly reminiscent of A-ha′s Take On Me (1985). It′s clear that Spiteri is having great fun returning to the studio, to music and to her faithful fans.
